We ’ re looking for an engineer to join our Ecosystem team and help build tools that integrate with GitHub that developers will love to use.

Our ecosystem team encompasses a large set of tools and applications at GitHub and includes projects like the Atom text editor, the Electron framework, the GitHub Visual Studio extension, the Octokit API libraries, and the flagship GitHub Desktop app.

## RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Writing and reviewing code for various GitHub applications, clients, and libraries
* Documenting the tools you help build
* Working with support to triage and debug technical support requests, often requiring communicating * directly with the public
* Coordinating with product managers to define and prioritize projects
* Engage with the developer community both in support and promotion of GitHub and its Ecosystem tools.

## QUALIFICATIONS:

* 2+ years of client application experience
* Willingness to develop on multiple platforms and languages
* Solid knowledge of testing, profiling, and debugging principles and practices
* Strong written communication
* Comfortable working asynchronously on a distributed team
* API design experience
* Git and GitHub experience

## BONUS:

* Experience on multiple platforms such as Mac, Windows, and Linux
* Experience in multiple languages such as C, C++, C#, Objective-C, Swift, and JavaScript
* HTML and CSS development experience
* Experience engaging with communities of developers
