Developers, could you share your feedback on this new Git platform?

Sorry I write in English, but I don't know Chinese.

I'd like to ask your opinion on the new Git platform with Continuous Delivery that my team made: https://buddy.works

It integrates with GitHub and supports all most popular programming languages and frameworks, including node.js, php, python, ruby. I'm especially interested in opinions from mobile developers (I can see lots of Android fans around here) but all feedback is most welcome.

Thank you 多谢 !
Alexander

In my opinion, if you wanna people to use yours, just think about one thing: which aspect can you do better than GitHub? Give me a reason to use your service and stop using GitHub.

I'm sorry for my direct expressing way.

@Kilerd It's OK, thanks for your reply.

You don't have to stop using GitHub. We offer full synchronization with GitHub so you can use Buddy for automatic deployments. For example, you can configure the service to automatically update your website on SFTP server on push to your GitHub repo.

We are more about delivery automation - competing with GitHub is not our aim.

I'm using bitbucket, the reason is that I can host my personal code on it for free and private. Your website is very beautiful, and your product maybe is more suitable for company than individual developer :)

@aisin Thank you for kind words! You can synchronize Buddy with your Bitbucket repositories and ship your code from there (just like with GitHub). We are suitable both for companies and freelancers - everybody's welcome :)

@Lxxyx Yes, we support node.js and Python builds. In fact, you can do anything as our builds are based on Docker architecture.

@Kivlov84 I think your service is much more like a CI service instead of git host service.

Looks beautiful. The pricing seems a little intimidating to personal developers and small teams IMO. I understand the automatic build may take a lot of resources depending on the size of the project, but have you consider a lower tier plan that, for example, only supports transfer-based deployments?

Also, just wondering what made you post on this website?

@Valyrian Price is about right, but could have one free project with limited resource to get individual developer going. This sounds much better than the free trial.

"including node.js, php, python, ruby. "
Why no Java? Does your team looks down upon it?

@Kivlov84 Currently I work for a US project, and we are using Github, Circle CI and AWS.

I browsed https://buddy.works, looks great.

@Valyrian Glad you like it. We got a lower tier plan, too, which is $3 per repo, but only includes Git hosting (you can choose it when the trial ends). @yangqi hits the point with one free project, though. It seems like a good idea, I'll pass it to the team.

As for your second question, I learned about this site while making referral research at similarweb.com. I know Chinese people are very helpful, so I decided to give it a shot, and I'm not disappointed :)

@xingzhi Yes, you can configure and run your own CI actions before delivering, like here: https://buddy.works/assets/images/slider/update-website.png

@helloit Java is fully supported, we even have a dedicated Java demo in the service.

@hantsy Thanks. Anything you miss about your current workflow?
