Job Description
Install, configure, test and maintain database systems, including No-SQL database, such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, and etc.
Manage and monitor all installed database systems for technology department, tech support depart and sales department.
Proactively research new installation, upgrade for existing database
Research and install database related infrastructure
Maintain security, backup and redundancy strategies
Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Support the database needs of technology department.
Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
Qualifications
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux based environments.
Knowledge of Kerberos authentication is a plus
Good skills of Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Cloudera, Hortonwork and etc.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Strong query and database tuning skills
Knowledge of Hadoop is a plus
Knowledge of AWS, Redshift is a plus
Solid scripting skills (e.g., shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python)
Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
