On January 16, 2019, one of the servers in our AMS3 datacenter experienced an unexpected issue with the software that manages data distribution across the disks within a hypervisor. This issue has resulted in data loss for the Droplets on this hypervisor. Despite our efforts to recover the data, our Engineering team has confirmed that the lost data is irretrievable. You can attempt to rebuild your Droplet, or manually recover from a backup or snapshot.
The security of your data is incredibly important to us, and we recognize the impact of this issue. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration, and we are extending a credit equal to three months of the cost of your impacted Droplets, which will be reflected on your account ’ s January invoice. If we can provide additional support or answer any questions, please open a ticket with us.
