Introduction CMV is a fantastic resource for pragmatic discourse. What a lot of users of this subreddit don't realise however is that the way we keep the majority of posts on hot consisting of good discussion is by removing a lot of threads. 1137 threads and north of 5000 comments were manually removed in January, most for either rules B or E. I wanted to address the former because something we see a lot in appeal is people who do genuinely believe that their view is open to change and that they just haven't seen the right reply yet. We dip into discussing this on the wiki but I'm going to try and hand out some tips on better discussions using some principles from my time speaking/judging at debate competitions.
