定义（Definition）

main verb 指句子或从句中表达主要动作、状态或存在的动词（也常叫 lexical verb 实义动词），与 助动词（auxiliary verb） 相对。在含有助动词的结构里，main verb 通常承载核心意义，而助动词主要表达时态、语态、语气等语法信息。

In “She runs,” runs is the main verb.
在 “She runs（她跑步）” 中，runs 是主要动词。

In “The project has been delayed by weather,” delayed is the main verb, while has and been are auxiliaries.
