potential function（势函数/位势函数）：在数学与物理中，指一个标量函数 ( \phi )，其梯度（或负梯度）给出某个向量场（常见为力场或流场）。若一个向量场可以写成 ( \mathbf{F}=\nabla \phi )（或 ( \mathbf{F}=-\nabla \phi )），则称该向量场由某个势函数生成，通常对应保守场与“路径无关”的性质。该词在电势、引力势、速度势、优化理论等语境中也很常见。
