語源 / Etymology

ラテン語の restauratio（再建、修復）に由来し、restaurare（再び建てる、修復する）という動詞から派生した。古フランス語の restoration を経て、14世紀頃に英語に取り入れられた。なお、英国史では大文字で Restoration と書くと、1660年のチャールズ2世による王政復古を特に指す。
