最近在折腾OpenWrt, 在官方的Buyers' Guide中看到这么一句话:
The most crucial decision is your choice of RAM. If you are going to run asterisk, mumble, Direct Connect, BitTorrent, a web server and other stuff, enough RAM will make them run smoothly.
之前也有在其他文章中看到, 比如 How To Kill Stuff On Linux

stuff确实是东西的意思 可以用来替换低级的thing或case
英文里少数万精油单词常常会根据上下文来理解 可理解成服务类项目 这个知乎翻译应该对楼主有所启发 We are such stuff as dreams are made on？ 我们不过是造梦的材料 是较为平铺直叙和正式的 浮生若梦 是较为优美的 |

醉了，哪怕你用google translation 也能翻译出来啊。 前面列举的都是软件 后面 and other stuff 就是说之类的 其他东西。

就是中文“东东”的意思。首先 Stuff 是指东西、物品，但是你不知道这东西的名字、或者名字不重要、或者在你说的时候名字是显而易见的。学英文看例句最重要。看内地文绉绉的字典能把你看傻的。摘几句 OALD8 上的几句例句：
- What's all that sticky stuff on the carpet? 地摊上粘糊糊的是啥玩意啊？ - The chairs were covered in some sort of plastic stuff. 那些椅子由一些看似塑料的东东包裹着。 - This wine is good stuff. 这酒是好东西。 - Where's all my stuff? 俺的东西都哪儿去了？ （例句摘自 OALD8，翻译是我随便译的） |

好像他们喜欢用 stuff 而不是 things，另外好像也喜欢用 folks 而不是 people

thing一般用在很难固化的『事情』, 比如 things happen for a reason./ There's a thing.都是只的事情,事件. stuff一般用在事物, 比如hot stuff-美女帅哥 |
