語源 / Etymology

ラテン語の repercussio（跳ね返り）に由来し、**re-**（後ろへ、再び）と percutere（打つ、叩く）から成る。もともとは「反射」や「反響」という物理的な意味で使われていたが、16世紀頃から「行為の結果としての影響」という比喩的な意味で広く使われるようになった。
