語源 / Etymology

ラテン語の anomalia を経て、ギリシャ語の anōmalia（不規則、不均等）に由来する。**an-**（否定の接頭辞）と homalos（均等な、規則的な）が組み合わさり、「規則に合わないもの」という意味が生まれた。16世紀頃から英語で科学や天文学の文脈で使われ始め、現在では日常的にも広く用いられている。
