語源 / Etymology

ラテン語の infuriare に由来し、接頭辞 in-（中へ）と furia（激怒、狂気）から成る。「怒りの中に追い込む」という原義があり、16世紀頃に英語に取り入れられた。furia はさらにラテン語の furere（狂う、荒れ狂う）に遡る。
